Further to last Friday’s tips referencing a post from the Employmentalist, a post was made yesterday about the job hunting process. The blogger discussed about employing the strategy of a salesperson. That is, implementing a numbers  game in your approach to your job hunting process. To read more about this process, go to the post entitled 150 = 24 = 3  .

Like the dog pictured above, be aggressive in your job hunting process. Be thick skinned. It’s probably the only way you’ll get what you want.

In another development, it looks like Bernie Madoff does not need to transform himself into Hitler, escape jail, and punish the Taco Bell dog who desecrated his future grave. (See 6 Jobs at HarperCollins; Bernie Madoff Grew Hitler’s Moustache.”) It appears that included in the mandatory sentence for the Taco Bell dog, which is pictured below in jail at Rikers Island and was jailed for urinating on Madoff’s future grave, is to stand on McD’s cheeseburgers for ten hours before he could eat it.

Banking is truly on a roll as the recent organizational restructuring in this industry has brought up new career openings.  Barclays Capital, the investment banking division of Barclays Bank PLC, has thirty one job openings in New York City.  The Brits may be down and somber as today’s rain after last night’s second round knockout of Ricky “the Hitman” Hatton by Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao, the pound-for-pound best boxer in the world today, but at least the UK-based bank is wide awake and has been actively looking for experienced employees.

Note that I did not link each job title directly to its respective application web page since the newsletter I read from ProBlogger over the weekend mentioned that my Web site could be penalized for dead links over time, so I apologize to all the spoiled New Yorkers who expected me to spoon feed them the exact job application web pages.

Get yourself up and apply for these jobs.  If Ricky Hatton managed to get up and walk by himself last night, so could you.  More job leads are coming soon.

21 Jobs at New York Life; Snoopy Yells at Jerry Maguire to “Show Me the Money”

Looks like the classiest dog in world history has human flaws.  In a surprising news from The New York Post, Snoopy was photographed screaming SHOW ME THE MONEY! at Jerry Maguire in Central Park yesterday noon.

snoopy_show-me-the-money

Apparently Snoopy is not happy with his peanut pay and girlfriend benefits at METLIFE and is threatening to move his services to NEW YORK LIFE if his demands are not met.  Reportedly, the rumor says Snoopy’s most important demand is his need for better looking girlfriends.  He does not want to be around the Gremlin, his term of endearment for the Pug in bikinis supplied by METLIFE.  He wants blonde Chow Chows.  Three not neutered Chow Chows.  Disgusted, Jerry Maguire reportedly called him a dog.  Snoopy told Jerry that he’s a dog and proud to be a dog.

On a more serious note…further to the job leads provided by the earlier post entitled “The Race Begins to the FORTUNE 100,” below is a list of twenty one job openings in NEW YORK LIFE’s Manhattan offices as it appears on their Web site.  All these jobs were posted in April and were arranged in alphabetical order to accommodate the one-out-three New Yorkers who habitually whine about minor inconveniences.

Administration Associate

Associate (2 positions)

CVP, Office of the Chief Diversity Officer

Defined Contribution Plans Manager

Director – Actuarial Services

Director – Health Plans

Director – Regulatory Services (Reg 60)

Director – Sales Tracks & Training Services

Director – Service

HR/Diversity Business Analyst

Human Resources Business Partner (multiple positions)

Investment Advisory Lawyer

Sales Specialist II

Security Officer – Executive Driver

Senior Analyst – Corporate Development

Senior Compensation Leader

Senior Customer Relationship Management Consultant

Senior Market Management Associate

Sr. Regulatory Services Consultant

Strategic Sourcing Associate

Sun Identity Manager Administrator/Developer

I tried to link each job title directly to its respective application web page but it wouldn’t work.  To access these jobs, go to NEW YORK LIFE’s corporate careers web page.  To save you time, simply use the job search tool box on the upper right hand corner of this blog.  In order to get the exact result from the job search tool box, simply use the following search format:  Under WHAT type the job title and company name with quotations (e.g. “Security Officer – Executive Driver” “NEW YORK LIFE”), and under WHERE simply input “New York, NY”.

More job leads are coming soon.

Jobs at MetLife and the truth between Snoopy and Bernie Madoff

Because we believe SNOOPY is the classiest dog in world history, we have decided to follow up on the lead from yesterday’s post for career openings at METLIFE.  But before we proceed, we would like to be the first one to put down the rumor about to reach the PAGE SIX column of THE NEW YORK POST that SNOOPY and BERNIE MADOFF worked together.  Look at the pictures below:

snoopy-and-madoff

The rumor appears to be based on the picture on the left.  But take a closer look – the difference between the two men is in the nose.  We believe that the man SNOOPY was hugging is JOE BIDEN.  (Can someone confirm this?  Can someone also find out if SNOOPY is a Democrat?  Let us know in your comments.)

Again we would like you to know that SNOOPY and BERNIE MADOFF did not work together.  Nor SNOOPY had any other type of relationship with BERNIE MADOFF.  However, SNOOPY might be a contributor to the Democrat’s socialist wing, which should not be a concern right now.

The dogs pictured above are not chasing skirts.  They are racing to apply for job openings in sales, finance, nursing, legal claims, actuarial, project management, information technology, pharmacy, medical, health, insurance, administrative, compliance, communications, and engineering, among others.  Some of these 28 companies may only be offering jobs outside the Tri-State area.  Click on the companies above and find out for yourself.

Remember, here in New York getting a job takes more than your work qualifications, educational background, and, let’s not forget, your good looks.  It’s also about how fast you move.  We are in New York, the dog-eat-dog capital of the world, so get moving!

WALK A DOG FOR DOLLARS

Are you an amateur photographer who needs something better to do than show your cleavage to strangers?  Or not earning enough money to help you support your artistic endeavors?  Or whose parents got tired of transferring funds to your account?

cleavege

A recent news article from The New York Daily News reported that New York City’s unemployment rate in March remained at 8.1%, which is still a notable figure compared to last year’s 5.1% unemployment rate in March.  It was also reported that there was an increase in private sector jobs by a mere 0.2% or 5,800.  These numbers reported by the State’s Labor Department are arcane to most New Yorkers and the only measure of the effects of this economy is shown by how the pets of the unemployed are doing these days.

Just take the case of these three sad dogs in need of your help.  Their owners are too depressed or busy looking for a job to take them out for a walk.  They need you.

The most recent dog walker jobs at Craigslist are posted below.  Simply click the hyperlinks and review the job openings for yourself.

Apr 22 – New York Walk and Train seeking dog walker! –

Apr 22 – Dog Walker Wanted! - (Upper East Side)

Apr 21 – DOG WALKER/TRAINER-APPRENTICE ASSIST TO A CANINE BEHAVIORAL TRAINER - (Downtown)

Apr 21 – Dog Walking needed ( Manhattan below 96th Street -

Apr 20 – Seeking Happy Dog Walkers - (Upper East Side)

Apr 13 – LOVE PETS? SEEKING DOG WALKERS AND PET SITTERS IN MANHATTAN - (Manhattan)

Part time and full time openings are available.  Some full time dog walkers earn $300 or more per week.  That’s more than enough to pay for your recession meals at Gray’s Papaya.  Enjoy your hot dogs.  Just remember to pick up after the dogs – we are not in Manila!

NEED A JOB NOW? WORK FOR THE MADOFFS!

NEED A JOB NOW? WORK FOR THE MADOFFS!

Who’s still making real money?  Are you graduating from New York Law School this May?  We believe someone is still making real money in this God forbidden New York economy.  Ira Lee Sorkin, Bernie Madoff’s criminal defense attorney, should be one of the lucky ones.  Try getting your first job out of law school at his law firm and work on the Madoff matter.  For career opportunities at his law firm, please contact the following via First Class mail or e-mail:

ATTN: Attorney Recruiting Manager

Dickstein Shapiro LLP

1177 Avenue of the Americas

New York, NY  10036-2714

E-mail: careersny@dicksteinshapiro.com

For the meantime, we would like to castigate the first dog that would relieve itself at the Madoffs’ gravesite ten years from now.  Our staff and at least ten New Yorkers believe that Mr. and Mrs. Bernie Madoff will be buried underneath a lamp post in Queens along a street corner near the New York Mets Citi Field ballpark.  For the record, no gravesite deserves to be dishonored by any dog, including by that celebrity Taco Bell Chihuahua photographed above by The New York Post in the future.  Shame on you Taco Bell for hiring such an indecent dog to sell your healthy meals.
